If the metal is up to "standard" the form of the sword and especially the handguards should make them a match for any but most massive historical blade. O P.S. If you looking for a great wall hanger this is the sword for you right out the box, but if you're looking to chop some s#!t up or remove some limbs you're gonna have to put a little work into it. The only 'bad' thing is that the handle was extremely lose, and not just the leather wrap, I mean the 'handle' its self, its full tang, but the wood part was lose. Then I hammered them on with metal shims to ensure a tight fit. Mine had a little handle wobble, as the pommel is held on with a nut.
