Thomas Raymond "Fitzy" Fitzgerald, 77, of Plainfield CT, formerly of West Warwick, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2023. She was also a member of the Foster Grandparent Program from 1990-1998. In 1971, Sister Loretta, desiring to broaden her skills for ministry, began to take educational courses that qualified her to be a certified teacher aide and a library aide in schools in New York, Ohio, and Wisconsin. Throughout her life in community and in her places of ministry, she was beloved for her gentle, patient spirit and her attention to detailnot resting until the days work was done well. Sister taught in the elementary grades for eleven years in Indiana and Kansas. Sister was preceded in death by her parents Francis and Annie Reynolds; her brothers John, Joseph, James, Thomas, Harry, William, and Francis; and her sister Katherine Reynolds. Her years in the field of education completed, she did pastoral ministry to the elderly and infirm, AIDS ministry, pastoral care and hospital chaplaincy in a variety of settings in Kansas and Wisconsin. The Sisters of St. Agnes are grateful to the nurses and staff of Nazareth Court and Center and Hospice Hope for their care of Sister Mary Jane in her last years. She made her profession of vows in the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes as Sister Eva on August 15, 1944, in Fond du Lac. She taught special education students in Decatur, Indiana, before reentering St. Agnes Convent in 1970. After graduation in 1951, she continued her preparation for religious life and received the religious name, Sister Janice. Sister Rita Kramer, CSA, formerly Sister Sara, died peacefully January 26, at St. Francis Home, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. She did post-graduate studies in counseling at Fort Hays State College, Hays, Kansas, and received a certificate in pastoral counseling from Cardinal Meyer Institute, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After completing her years in educational ministry, she worked for seven years at St. Bernard Parish, Madison, Wisconsin, making pastoral visits to the elderly. Compassion, encouragement, loving care, a listening heart and so much more were part of the daily experience of those she served throughout her years in hospice ministry. Brazil.
